The Data Processor, as part of the Information Reporting Department, is responsible for recording all data received pertaining to membership cards and demographic information; along with upholding Union Ware processes that support maintaining records of all data. This position reports to the Information Reporting Supervisor. This Hourly position is 40+ hours per week for a temporary period (6 months).

Location:  Chicago, IL

Duties and Responsibilities: Document scanning and data entry into the database system includes, but is not limited to:

  • Data entry and data organizing
  • Membership  and Cope card processing
  • Processing & Scanning incoming documents within database system
  • Updating contact sheets as well as member information
  • Process and update return mail
  • Assist with Special projects as needed

Working Conditions:  The Data Processor works indoors in a controlled environment at a desk.

Other Expectations:

Work and use office equipment (fax, copier, printer, and scanners)

Periodic field assignments as needed in support of organization campaigns

 

Key Qualification Criteria:

  • Two to three years of experience in a data entry and administrative role
  • Proficient alphanumerical skills with a minimum of 75 WPM 
  • Be able to maintain several project timelines concurrently, work without close supervision and have a willingness to take initiative
  • Possess critical thinking skills
  • The ability to adapt with grace to a fast-paced office environment and works well within a team
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and navigating through the internet; SharePoint database experience is a plus              

Preferred experience:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Some community organizing work
  • Data Entry and/or Customer service Experience
