Purpose:

Under the direction of the Missouri Director, the Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the  organizing plan and the supervision of assigned division staff and/or organizers, with the goal of providing strategic guidance to the union in its various campaigns, which includes the development of organizing activities. In the capacity of supervising staff, the Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day supervision, coordinating with Missouri Director on staff development of all organizers, monitoring, training, and recommending and implementing discipline. Makes recommendations on assignments based on staff development needs.

Location:  St Louis, Missouri

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Leads strategic campaign planning incorporating all aspects of a campaign, including organizing, research, communications, community and political engagement
    • Develops and implements all aspects of work plans for assigned organizing campaigns
    • Writes campaign plans and ensures that the written plans are appropriate
    • Integrates into campaign activities, performs organizing assignments of all kinds and serves as a role model to new staff
    • Works with the state Director in developing and implementing staff development trainings and plans
    • Supervises  organizers
    • Directs organizer recruitment activities
    • Identifies and implements legal, community, and political strategies
    • Oversees the development of coordinated communications during internal organizing campaigns
    • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Coordinators may be required to work long and irregular hours and to work on weekends and holidays when necessary. Travel will be required and the Coordinator will work on remote campaigns for extended periods.
