The Helen Miller Member Education and Training Center (METC) is an educational organization providing instruction and training to workers represented by members of Service Employees International Union Healthcare Illinois/Indiana/Missouri/Kansas (SEIU HCIIMK). Purpose:
METC is committed to ensuring access to training opportunities for Public and Private Homecare workers, Child Care Providers and other Healthcare Workers that are represented by our Local. The METC runs specific training programs that are governed by collectively bargained agreements and/or other contracts. The Training and Outreach Specialist (Specialist) will have primary responsibility for training content delivery and participant engagement, as well as assisting with organizing and coordinating educational, administrative, and operational activities to ensure a high quality METC Training Program that meets training goals and ensures good experience for attendees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specialist is responsible for class preparation and instruction based on the training program curricula. The Specialist will have outreach, enrollment and attendance responsibilities/goals, as well as perform any or a combination of the duties and responsibilities listed below, depending on the assignment.

All staff are expected to respect the processes of the organization and are expected to work within the framework of the organization to resolve internal disputes and issues.
Scope and Nature of Supervision:
Specialist’s primary responsibility is the development and education of caregivers. The Specialist must be able to act and organize their time independently. They must also be able to receive directions from and interact with METC management and staff, as well as Union officers, and staff, when it becomes necessary in the daily operation of the METC.
Working Conditions:
Specialist must have the ability to travel throughout IL and other areas, work evenings and weekends. Job requires occasional minimal lifting of up to 50lbs of boxes and shipping packages.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary: $59,882.00 – $63,476.00/ Annually
